From the beginning, they knew that they wanted a Siamese kitten and were eagerly anticipating the possibility of finding one that day.
Elliot shared with Love Meow that although all the Siamese kittens were either reserved or taken, they were fortunate that the lady assisting them believed that Merlin would be an ideal match.
Upon their visit, Merlin sensed the presence of his visitors even without seeing them. He warmly greeted Elliot with a few sniffs before snuggling up in his arms and purring contentedly. Elliot knew right then and there that Merlin was the perfect feline companion for him. Despite his disability, Merlin was eager to be around people and found his forever home with Elliot. They happily completed the adoption process and took Merlin home with them.
On his initial day at home, Merlin adapted well and made himself comfortable. He even marked his territory by claiming it as his own. “He started exploring the area, taking in the scent of his surroundings until he became familiar with it.” Despite his visual impairment, the smart feline relies on his other senses to navigate, and he has now become a pro at mapping out his new abode.
Elliot from Love Meow shared that he was amazed by how Merlin adapted to his surroundings. Unlike other cats, Merlin uses his paws to check his environment first before exploring. Once he gets used to a room, he can easily recall everything in it.
Merlin is the epitome of a chill cat. He’s incredibly relaxed and his main desires in life are to be fed and snuggled up with his humans. He’s very fond of people and enjoys being held close, often curling up in their arms for a good cuddle session. It’s almost as if he craves the attention and wants nothing more than to feel loved and acknowledged. Of course, food is also a top priority for Merlin – he’s always ready and willing to chow down on some tasty treats.
According to Elliot, his furry friend enjoys taking strolls, socializing with others, and exploring the surroundings with his nose. However, despite his adventurous nature, he always finds his way back to their comforting laps by the day’s end.
Despite his blindness, he doesn’t appear to be hindered in any way. He has a unique perspective of the world, relying heavily on his other senses. He frolics, dashes about, and leaps just like his sighted feline counterparts.
