Have you ever wondered how cats get their names? This question got me thinking about my own feline friends and how I came up with their names. The first cat I ever had was given the name Fortuna by the breeder, which translates to “gift from heaven.” Although the meaning was nice, it didn’t quite fit my furry friend’s personality. So, after some research, I found the name Cara, which means “valuable,” and it felt like a perfect match for my beloved cat.

When I adopted my second cat, she was just a kitten and hadn’t been named yet. Her playful and adorable nature inspired me to name her Yuna, which has two meanings: “the young, blooming one” and “the friendly one.” As it turns out, both of their names accurately reflect their unique personalities.

How do they interact with each other?
Cara and Yuna’s relationship is a bit of a rollercoaster. Some days, they’re like oil and water and prefer to keep their distance from each other – growling as they pass by. Conversely, on other occasions, they snuggle up on the sofa together and groom each other. Hunger also plays a part in their behavior towards each other.
What are their personalities like?
Cara is generally laid-back and takes her time warming up to strangers. However, once she trusts someone, she is very affectionate, calm, and enjoys cuddling. Even when given treats, Cara remains gentle and never shows signs of aggression.
On the other hand, Yuna is more energetic and playful. She loves running around the apartment and has a mischievous streak. Although she can sometimes get spooked, she is very loving, attentive, and purrs loudly. In many ways, she embodies everything we expect from a typical feline. For example, she once caught a bat on the balcony and then came to snuggle with us.
